Max 3000 people.

What is the individual cost of a first aider?
Am i right in thinking that event company first aiders are only HSE First Aiders?

Average is a problem. But to give you an idea. There are three elements to consider.

The travel time and distance. I suggest charging 40p a mile there and back. Plus the hourly rate the travel takes.

The man hours involved. You cannot pay less than £5.80 per hour and in practice that attracts no-one.

Finally there has to be an element for consumables and I find 1p per head expected to attend. (4000 attendees = £40 charge to customer.

It might be possible to factor in a discount if the event is providing food for the first aiders.

As a one man band the hourly rate is your wage, but as an employer don't forget to factor in the other costs, NI, Employers liability etc.

Small fete 0930 - 1630 10 miles from base 200 people no food.

2 x first aiders @ £9.80 ph for 8 hours (30 mins travel ew) = £156.80

20 miles @ 40p per mile = £8

200 x 1p = £2

Total £166.8

As you can see the big expense is labour. Even at minimum wage it would be £92.8 and for an employer not a cent profit.

The HSE FAW is universal and recognised. IMO not ideal but it is the normal requirement.
