Hi Niki,

The cheapest I have found is at St John's Supplies.  Last time I looked they had a sale on, with 30.00 off each  (Laerdal Little Annes), but I suspect that offer might be over by now.   Even their regular price is pretty competitive though.

There are occassionally second hand ones on here - I was lucky enough to get a couple last year - but they really are like hens' teeth.

Good luck.

Ian

Also, Zebmed ( http://www.zebmed.com - www.zebmed.com ) sometimes has the Laerdal Baby Anne for about 80.

Best is to buy new manikins and equipment

you could purchae second hand equipment that migt not last a month.

ask yourself, Why arer they selling their manikins.

Second hand may seem a good option bu is not good buisiness sense

Think of the standard you wish to deliver your service at. would you settle for a second hand meal in a restaraunt? if not then dont supply your customers with second and kit.

it may cost more, but if you dont have the finance, then have a think about if you will be successful in buisiness or not

it is great to buy new but with the cost of everything else it is sometimes needed to buy some new and some 2nd hand, they can always saell those on later.  i agree you have to have a good look and see what they are like and why they are being sold.  i got 4 2nd hand but the trainer had never used them little annies she preferred to use acktars for all her training and on the assessment never knew how she got away with it!!!!!!! she folded that business but have now heard they have restarted and still only going to use acktar annies.  they are ok for when you have children to teach or where you do staff training with more than 12 students but not for FAW courses, she even uses the baby acktar even tho she has a baby resusie

Am I missing something?  What is Acktar?  I can't find any reference to it on Google.

Ian, if Miloelkhound had spelled the name of the device properly which is in fact ACtar not Aktar as posted, you might have had a fighting chance! If you follow this hyperlink http://www.inventivewomen.com/library/library_diannecroteau_on.shtml - http://www.inventivewomen.com/library/library_diannecroteau_on.shtml

it should take you to a page that tells you about the Actar 911 and it's inventor. Having tried them, personally I don't like them as I find them too basic; however if you have a half reasonable (Ambu, Leardal etc) mannequin to actually demonstrate on, the Actar is not bad as an extremly cheap way of getting a lot of mannequins for your money.

sorry for the spelling mistake  we all make them at times i agree as a back up to an annie they are ok but not as an alternative, there are some which interlink to each other and make a+ or you can split them all down for seperate ones they also make a good alternative
