Back in the year 2002 and after spending many an hour searching the web for first aid information, I soon realised that the UK was definitely lacking a venue where people involved in first aid could come and air their views, ask questions and be a part of a UK community. Through this, the First Aid Cafe was created.

First Aid Cafe - An INDEPENDENT first aid web site just for you.

Since the site's official opening in July 2002, membership has rapidly expanded to over 18,000 members and continues to grow at a rate of over 200 new members each month. On a typical month, over a quarter of a million pages are viewed. Visitors often return several times throughout the day to monitor the Forum and other constantly changing information.

The First Aid Cafe members cover a wide range of occupations. Approximately 60% are trainers with the remainder covering First Aiders, Appointed Persons, Occupational Health staff, and other interested parties. These represent a broad spectrum of industries, including well know companies such as Ford, Tesco, Whitbread, Kellogg, Police, HMS Forces to name just a few. The First Aid Cafe is growing rapidly and progressing into new, exciting areas. Its extensive and increasing membership is certain to have a substantial influence over the shape of first aid in the future

In 2003 the site expanded outside the realms of the Internet by holding UK's largest First Aid national conference and exhibition; “First Aid Forward”. This has now become an annual event.

Through the membership of the First Aid Cafe the formation of The Association of First Aiders (www.AoFA.org ) was realised. The AoFA, now established as UK 's largest first aid association.

One in 178 billion!

If you search for 'first aid' in Google, the First Aid Cafe is on Google’s front page from over 178,000,000 other entries!  To give you some idea of the growth and interest in first aid, only 5 years ago, typing ‘first aid’ into Google gave 221 million results, now its 178 billion!

It’s been a few years since updating the First Aid Cafe, so we have spent considerable time in updating the site. Now we have better directories and even You Tube style video. However, in updating the site we found a considerable amount of information that was out of date. So this has been either removed or updated.

In updating the website, the most difficult task was moving the forum to a faster and better version. The Forum is really the heart of the first aid cafe.  With over 61,539 Posts in 7,575 Topics it must be the largest collection of first aid questions and answers in the world!
