Visited the Conference facility this week to give it the ‘once-over’. All I can say is that it is excellent. Not only is the venue excellent, the food is likewise excellent. What’s more we have obtained an excellent room rate for us all. Now that’s four excellence’s in one paragraph so overall it has to merit the big thumbs up!

Could you please specify who the conference will be for. Will there be a mix or am i to assume us that have only just come into first aid will be meeting together. Then there is the thought that are we going to feel that we are in the wrong place and that everything is going to go over our head. I love a good conference but for the right reasons to learn from others etc not to look stupid and unimportant to the rest of you more able aiders.
thanks hannah

Suggested items for the conference. 1. The resus council guideline changes which are being discussed and may come out in the new year. (I assume it's the council, not just the tripart book)- Who defines the 'best practice' not in the HSE resus guidlines? 2. The IHCD First Person On Scene awards, produced under Edexcel in response to the ambulance services. - will they replace most other first aid quals? 3. Proposal for debate: 'First aid trainers should always be trained to a higher level than the level at which they are trining.' - Should spark some debate.
