we could invite local ambulance service to give a talk on the links between first aider and ambulance service. Casualty Union might be good, raynet could be good also, what about a discussion with a consultant from local A&E unit... and speaker from FAMMS or EMAS.

Just a thought but, What do we struggle with as trainers?, does anyone have any problems (FA)?, that we could include in the day? Perhaps a session on "how to ensure you get paid". What do you think?

Probably going to be in a Hotel venue.
Cost for conference PLUS evening meal, bed & breakfast is likely to be £140.00 inc VAT.
Which is pretty good value - rooms sleep 2; so bring your wife or a "friend".
I will confirm the venue by 18th June 2003

Birmingham or Coventry is good for me, glad it isnt any further up the country being a west country bumpkin myself, really looking forward to meeting everyone. Good for networking. Have you thought of asking A&E consultants to come and talk about their thoughts on first aiders...could be interesting.

I may have a stella and maybe a bailey's!!
That aside I think it would be great for people to stay over afterwards; to wind down and re-debate the whole day's events.
The more the merrier I say :-)

Hi folks. Coventry sounds fine to me too, even though i live on the South coast. Would have to travel - anywhere. A mixture of formal presentations, e.g. from A & E would be good. Perhaps some 'table top' exercises with First Aiders / amb. teams and A & E would help link through from First Aid to advanced treatment... By-the-way, the 10th Oct would be preferred. need a place to stay overnight. Please.

Looks as though those of us that intend to stay over will have to chance to socialize in the evening as well. Should be good fun after we've all had a few beers!!

HI Folks
Some decisions have been reached (venue, Cost and date) and can be found by clicking on the conference banner on the "HOME" page of the firstaidcafé.
Speaker to be confirmed subject to availability.

JR
Call Dave Arnold (Admin) on 01582 598005 or wait until the on-line booking system is up and running; which I suspect will be by next week. (keeps fingers crossed tightly)
Cheers
