This site is considerably overdue for a makeover. I will keep this forum as-is , as we have over 60,000 posts!


But I'm thinking of adding facilities similar to another site (which I run) www.Ambu999.co.uk this includes videos, blogs etc. What are your thoughts?


Also, anybody willing to help out adding information pages of up-to date information and links? Most of this will be new, as looking through this site, most of the stuff is now totally out of date?

I have started work on the new site (but you can't see it yet)Approve

I’m looking for items to put on the site, could be photos, articles, pdf, video, PowerPoint’s or a list of links with descriptions etc.


Really need your help guys to get this site ‘great’ once again.

Perhaps with a new site it might be time for a re launch. 

I do visit nearly every day, but unless I feel I can contribute to the thread then I just look.

Like speckles, I visit most days (currently on holiday and writing this - how sad is that!), but only respond if I think it can be helpful. No big ambition to have the highest number of posts!

Me same as many here, only post when I have something to add.
 

I have noted the slanging matches have greatly decreased, and that is a good thing!

 

i do try to pop on a few times a day, sometimes just arent enough hours in day though!

I’m still working on updating the site. I think that we have written software to port the Forum across to the new site, but there may be some loss of member info.


I am looking for stuff to put on the new site so if you have anything, i.e images, articles, links, lesson plans, powerpoints etc. then please email me david dot Arnold at firstaidcafe.co.uk

Just a quick update. The forum is the main part of this website hence we are spending time to get the transferring posts correct. We have lost the Avatars, but this should be a simple job for members to select another image when they log in.  Links referencing one post from inside another post does not work, but not many posts do this so it should not be a major problem.


Member ranking sets all people as ‘newbies’ , but as soon as a post is placed in the forum, correct ranking occurs.


There is also a nice new facility to ‘thank’ posters so the better posters receive ‘medals’ .


One important thing to point out is that we will not be transferring existing PMs to the new forum.

There should be an iPhone app.
Or even the forum in a mobile version so it can be obtained on a mobile phone cheaper and more easier.

With luck, the first trial run of the new site will be this Wednesday. So expect the site to be up and down during the day as we move the final forum posts to the new one.
I hope that it will be working by the end of the day, but I will be adding more to the site over the next few days/weeks.
