There's a couple of points made by Marty and Jonnac.
Helping new starters. Whether we like it or not we are for the most part competitors, I'm sure none of have an issue with offering useful general advice about the industry but offering the use of actual equipment so new starters can compete against us is something of a step too far for me. Similarly, asking what works best as a marketing tool and expecting a forum member to give you their recipe for success is optimistic in the extreme.
Starting up. As Richard quite rightly mentions, start on the cheap and that's the impression you will leave your delegates with. You should IMHO start with £7k (at least) for marketing, and all the best kit you can get together, not the minimum you can afford. First Aid Training Instructing is, on the face of it an easy industry to get started in, because it's relatively easy and on the face of it lucrative, lots of people do it.
Someone said on this forum once, if you want to make a small fortune in this business, start of with a large one. Grangevale, please don't be offended but if you're having to borrow the most basic of pieces of equipment then you may be in trouble before you start, but good luck in any event.
