Hi there,

Can anyone tell me what the ratio is for first aiders to general public?

I am FAW trained, and will eventually have a team with basic first aid skills to use.

Many thanks

Welcome to the forum.

When you say first aiders to general public in what context are you talking about?

Football Stadiums and some other locations have specifed numbers others don't

And HSE are quite clear that they do not consider FAW as a suitable level for first aiders in event cover. Therefore this would probably not meet an event organisers insurance requirements if the brown stuff hits the whirly thing

It will all depend on the type of event what is required, the HSE issue what is called the purple guide which tells you the number and type of medical cover that is needed, all event cover/private ambulance services (volunteer and paid) have to be registered with the CQC now (If you are in England/Wales they have not got to Scotland yet)

The purple guide only looks at certain events and not all event first aid companies have to be registered with the CQC.
