I currently volunteer for St John Ambulance but my division leader has made her dislike of me all too obvious and I am not free to join the other division on their training night.  I'd still like to cover events but can anyone tell me of companies that pay first aiders for event cover please?

jackydp, welcome to the forum. There are a lot of companies out there providing first aid cover at events, (from what I see, a lot seem to have been set up by disgruntled SJA members) But  some are good, some are bad, some are just dangerous. You don't say where you are, but a trawl through the web may help.

Search out the ones who are CQC registered, not the ones who hide behind dodgy loopholes. What area are you in? We pay for event cover, first aiders once CRB checked and cleared are paid between £6.75 and £10 per hour depending upon the event.

Hi, I tend to pay my staff £7ph and most people seem happy with that, I struggle to pay more than this, I guess it depends on what type of service and how affluent the area or event is.
Keep a eye out on the forum for work, but try to get plenty of events in with your division until you find some regular work.
If you give away your location I feel sure you will get someone contact you who needs staff, good luck anyway.

Thank you for your replies.  I'm in Plymouth and I could do some evening/weekend work around my full time job, which has cleared me to work part time.

Could you tell me whereabouts on the forum I should be looking please as there seem to be quite a few categories and I may have missed it?

Thank you.

He He you are looking in the right place the EVENT COVER SECTION, just look around it you will find some firms that have work nationally or if you go into some of the old posts you might find a few local providers. You just need to have a good luck around the forum.

If you don’t find what you are looking for put a search on google for a provider in your area and see who’s local to you, enjoy yourself finding the best provider for you good luck
