I know this isn't a first aid question but I'm fed up, let me explain: Some time ago i decided to start a first aid training business, nothing special, just wanted\decided that I wanted to teach first aid to people and supplement my income.

So I decided to concentrate on groups like mother and toddlers, youth clubs, parents of new babies etc, I'm a first aider in a special school and get lots of specialist training as well as the FAW and paediatric courses that we have to do.

I'm not very busy as I've only just started up and am getting used to getting my name out there, anyway, my point is this, I invested in some magnetic door signs for my car.

Actually I've invested in SEVERAL magnetic door signs, the reason being that they keep getting stolen.

Why on earth anyone would want to steal them is beyond me I mean what use are they to anyone else !! The classic was yesterday, I stopped at a garage to get some diesel and while I was paying someone took them off my door !!! I couldn't believe it !!!.

Anyway, I'm not buying any more, I'm fed up with the state of the country that breeds people who just can't leave things alone. I hope their hands drop off at least that way someone will get to practice their first aid skills.

I feel your frustration.  Magnetic signs are often nicked as it is very easy to just stick another sign over the top and hey presto I am advertising my business at your expense.

safeinmyhands, I can sympathise with you on this - my eldest son had his own mobile car valeting business and he had his magnetic signs stolen. After losing a couple of sets - he gave up. There were personalised with his logo and mobile number so they would not benefit anyone else.

The must be a name for these sh*t for brains morons who steal these. I think everyone should "take the law into their own hands" and do whatever to protect their property. The police seem to be powerless and there does not seem to be a real deterant for these mindless morons.

Sorry about your problems-I started an events first-aid service at the start of the year, not for the cash I got fed up with the VAS and had a mad moment, Send me a email some time and I will let you know how I have found work without spending a small fortune. It might work for you it’s got to be better than having your signs pinched.

Also thanks for looking after the kids with additional needs, It’s hard work but very rewarding, good luck with your training. John firstaidplus@hotmail.co.uk
