Hi All,

Please do not become confused.  One cannot register with Ofqual to be a 'first aid trainer' in the same way that one can currently register with the HSE.

Ofqual approve Awarding Organisations - City & Guilds, Edexcel, AoFAQ, CIEH etc they do not approve individual traning organisations to train.

In fact Awarding Organisations do not, can not, train.  Ofqual will not allow it.

Your best bet is to become an accredited training centre with one of these Awarding Organsiations.  If you contact me directly I can give you advice as to how to do it with AoFAQ but there are other Awarding Organisations out there which may be better suited to your needs.

Our recent newsletter explains more: http://www.aofa.org/News...wsletter.asp?article=132

Hope this helps.

Hi Marmite,

Just a quick question - do you email the newsletter to members of this forum if you're registered or do you need to be AOFA registered to receive it?

Thanks

Hi Louise

Welcome to the Forum.  All newsletters are sent to AoFA members and some are sent to both AoFA members and First Aid Cafe members, depending on the subject relevancy.

The easiest way to ensure you receive all news letters is to be a member of AoFA but if you don't want to do that then we usually post them on the AoFA website, here: http://www.aofa.org/NewsPad/NewsLettersList.asp

Regards

Marmite

Thanks for the info Marmite.

I will definitely be joining AoFA but I thought I'd do it in July after I've had my first aider trainer training so that I can join as a trainer.
