I was in a discussion about the treatment of chemical burns and the topic arose as to why the VAS manual 5th edition 1987 which cross referenced to continue treatment for severe burns after cooling was dropped from subsequent   editions including the current edition.

Would forum members be kind enough to explain the rationale of this and should you/ would you dress a chemical burn that was blistered, peeling and  had swelling of the affected area ? with kitchen film /suitable dressing

I note that a chemical burn to the eye is dressed

Thanks

I think some of the problem is chemical burns is such a wide open grouping. It is certainly a case of one treatment doesn't fit all.
