I don't think people are shy it is just the post is a statement. Lets face it every walk of life have got people who will accept a bribe (allegedly)

Try working in the middle east then you will see what "exchanging gifts to aid the contract"  is really all about.

Well yes it does go on all the time and with the NHS doing more and more private contracts then it will be open to abuse, I feel that all the tender process should be open for the public and that all bids should be published.

Also whilst I sit on my soap box

Whilst some NHS staff are being told to take a cut in wages, should the management in the hospitals lead by example and reduce the wage that they receive?

Also is it time the NHS started charging patients for treatment who self inflict with drugs and alcohol.

Any thoughts welcome.

The article is very devoid of facts and is hard for people to comment without knowing at least something about the circumstanes. You never know they may come back and have dropped all allegations and be reinstated.

In regard to the NHS i agree managers should allways lead by example and that it should be equal. For example is you ask staff to get a cut of say £500 a year and that works out at a 2% cut then the managers should also have a 2% cut. I understand it is the private centre and they need to be competative in relationtion to the private and to attract talent you need a salary that reflexts that but you cannot exspect the staff to cut their pay to fund their managers rises.

Third and finally, wholley agree with patients being charged for self infliction of drugs and alcohol.
